This is intentional to maximize storage capability in your classroom. We may offer a lower riser with reduced storage space in the future. To allow for compatibility between all Robosource Field Riser products, the VEX IQ field riser assembly has a small gap between each section (fastened with spacers). As the VEX IQ field’s base is rigid, this small gap does not have a performance impact. Options are available for having the pallet delivered to your location or picking it up at a nearby Saia Freight terminal, which is the lowest cost option and may be the most convenient if you don’t have a loading dock. Assembly Information When you first receive your field risers, you will need to attach the plywood to the welded frame using the included wood screws. After that, any subsequent setup or takedown consists of only the following steps: Attach legs by screwing 4 bolts into pre-installed threaded inserts Use adjustable feet to level platform If multiple platforms are set up for a full field, place platforms next to each other and adjust feet to level each platform. Two bolts are then installed into threaded inserts at each interface between sections. These bolts are only to prevent platforms from separating and should not bear any weight. This is why each platform must be leveled before connecting to one another.
